About Me

Welcome! My name is Janet and I am a passionate individual who firmly believes each person deserves a chance to fulfil their potential.

I have a wealth of experience working with children and adolescents with mental health concerns.  I run workshops  on the benefits of Art Therapy and facilitate experiential Art Therapy groups.  I enjoy working with families and the dyadic relationship between parents and their children.  I am also love working with individuals in my private practice. Art provides us with a wonderful medium through which to communicate our thoughts and feelings. Throughout my professional career I have worked with people of differing ages, abilities, disabilities and backgrounds.

I am an enthusiastic therapist and artist, believing that it is essential to maintain a healthy life-work balance.  I use a psychodynamic integrative approach to Art Therapy and remain up to date with current literature in the field.  I have been published in Newsbriefing, the British Association of Art Therapist's magazine and exhibit work from time to time.  Please feel free to view my work on the links below.

My ongoing research, titled "Silent is an anagram for Listen," focuses on the unspoken words communicated through body language and the art making process, this work is building on the dissertation presented for my Master's degree and an area of interest I hope to follow into a Doctorate.

I am registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and a full member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT).  I hold a full Disclosure Barring Services clearance certificate (DBS, previously known as a CRB).
